Talk Hang Restaurant: A Taste of Filipino Seafood Dishes

If you ever find yourself around Deira in Dubai, or more specifically at Deira City Centre and you're craving Filipino street foods then you only need to get to one place in the vicinity.

On the opposite side of Deira City Centre in Dubai is Centurion Tower. At the ground floor vicinity of this tower are a number of restaurants who mostly caters Filipino Dishes.

One of the most popular restaurants around Centurion Tower is Dampa, and you might find the number of people coming to dine at this place a bit overwhelming.

No need to fret or wait for the long lines to eat Filipino Dishes, especially seafood dishes.

Across the same spot of Dampa is a restaurant called Talk Hang which we believe is a play of word that came from the Tagalog word "Tokhang" which is an initiative in the Philippines to fight illegal drug campaign.

Anyway, back to the restaurant, in this place, you will find the seafood dishes that will captivate your taste buds.

We went there to test their Filipino dishes. Below are the dishes that we ordered.

Baked Mussels

If you're in luck, you will be able to order their baked mussels. This baked seafood dish is a treat for cheese lovers and seafood lovers as it combines two lovable ingredients into one tasty dish.

Isaw (Grilled Chicken Intestine)

One of the dishes that we miss after we became expats in Dubai are the chicken intestines. This one of a kind dish is a treat for every Filipino who misses our country.

Grilled Shrimp

And of course, the main reason we visited the Centurion Tower opposite of Deira City Centre is to eat large amounts of seafood, especially shrimps. This tasty dish is the main selling points of restaurants in the area.

A secret sauce: Salted Egg Sauce

You need to order this sauce if you plan to eat at Talk Hang. They serve this very special sauce together with some of their other seafood dishes but you can order it separately to combine with your favorite seafood, or even just spice things up with your white rice.

Salted Egg sauce is a combination of, yes you got it right, salted egg mixed with margarine, and Aligue(more commonly known as the female crab eggs).

This combination makes this sauce a tasty treat to add to your meal, just be sure to eat in moderation as the sauce is really fatty.

Try visiting Talk Hang to get a taste of their lovely dishes and to understand more why we now keep coming back to the said place.

We rate this restaurant: 8/10
