Catch Up With Your Korean Food Cravings at KimChikin

We both were fans of Asian food cuisine and you will be able to see it as you follow us on our journey to taste different dishes in different places.

This might be because we grew up in a community where we have easy access to different Asian dishes, especially Japanese, Korean and Thai food.

Last time we talked about Little Bangkok and Mori Sushi, this time we have fulfilled our cravings for Korean dishes.

There is a fastfood/restaurant type food place in Dubai where you can grab Korean dishes. The place is called KimChikin which is a go-to venue for anything Korean.

There are lots of Korean restaurant in Dubai but KimChikin has lots of branches around the city and outside the city which makes it easier for its customers to access Korean food.

We went to their Al Ghurair KimChikin branch to order and eat some spicy Korean dishes. For the love of Korean food is their slogan which is why you can be sure that their dishes are more or less inspired and based on Korean cuisines.

For the first dish that we ordered, of course, it will not be a Korean meal without the Kimbaps!

We chose the beef Kimbap, which we can say is up to par with most Kimbaps that we have tasted.

Of course, we ordered refreshments to quench our thirst and to also fight the spicy-ness of the food. Lol!

I ordered a freshly brewed lemon iced tea just to be on the safe side, coz I know that Iced tea will almost always taste the same for every restaurant. On the other hand, Ms. FeebleFeet, ordered a homemade lemonade as her drink of choice.

The lemonade has a bit of a strong soda taste, pretty much like a carbonated drink. I didn't like it, good thing I ordered the Iced tea. Lol!

But she loved it.

Next came our main dishes.

For her food, she ordered one of the famous Korean dishes out there.

Bibimbap

For those that don't know what is in a Bibimbap, well it is simply a rice dish, where the hot rice is mixed with various veggies and sometimes with meat and egg on top on it. It is a really tasty dish that we both love so we agreed on ordering this.

For me, my personal favorite on every Korean restaurant that I go to, I make sure that I taste their Tteokbokki dish. Tteokbokki or rice cakes in English is a Korean  rice cake dish made from stir-fried rice cakes, fish cakes cooked with spicy sauce in it

Tteokbokki (Topoki - KimChikin)

I usually judge the taste of the Tteokbokki based on the sauce that was mixed with rice and fish cakes. KimChikin's version is called "Topoki".

I can say that it is as I expected. It captured the sweetness and the right amount of spicy taste in it. Definitely, a must try for people who go to Korean restaurants.

The last food we ordered to compliment the Kimbap and the Bibimbap is KimChikin's:

Korean Style Boneless Fried Chicken (Angry Korean Flavor)

This is pretty much the same with what the Korean's eat when they order Chicken and Beer. Spicy and tasty which made me sweat so much. There were two flavors, the first one is called Mango Citrus and this Angry Korean (no idea why they called it that way. Lol!).

We chose the latter coz I don't like the idea of having my chicken dish mixed with whatever mango flavor or mixture they will put in it. I have no idea how the first one taste, but we're pretty much satisfied with the taste of the chicken.

If you're looking for a quick fix to your Korean cravings, try eating at KimChikin, and you will not be disappointed.

You can find the Ghurair Branch near Yakitate and Din Tai Fung restaurants which are somewhat at the backside of the mall.

This is our rating for the KimChikin dishes 8/10
